While 3D imaging has become the standard for implant planning, current practice still shows difficulties with resulting errors in the planning of complex- but also sometimes simple- rehabilitations. Software manipulation can be somewhat difficult, but modern automation processes allow intelligent algorithms to help with diagnosis and planning. Modern implant planning tools will therefore be addressed in this lecture, together with the attention points that one should consider given the actual limitations of such tools in available clinical software.
